CUPRUM was founded on 1948, in the city of Monterrey, with a 170 tons. Press for manufacturing copper profiles, that’s the reason why it’s called “Cuprum”. Later, Cuprum focused on manufacturing aluminum profiles.

In 1994, Cuprum acquired 2 presses located in Mexico City, strenghtening its service and improving its strategic position nationwide.

In 1995, Cuprum acquired Tiendas Alutodo store chain, which today has 24 retail establishments that sell aluminum and glass products and accessories to retail customers in Mexico.

Cuprum strengthened its competitive position in 1998 when it acquired Alcomex, S. A. de C. V., the profile production and marketing leader for industrial applications in Mexico.

Today, Cuprum Profiles keeps up to date all its production plants (2 extruder plants, 3 finishing plants, 1 tooling plant and 2 foundry plants), which are focused to give the best solution to the national and international market needs, regarding aluminum profiles.
